Unfortunately, there are people in this world who think that, by emulating Paris Hilton, they'll be deemed more attractive. (Equally scary are the men who've fallen victim to the same trend.)
Someday maybe they'll figure out that being a slave to fashion and trends aren't good things. There is nothing wrong with being comfortable in your own skin.Bleach blonde, lots of makeup, extremely tan...what's with this trend?
I agree. I think that they tan to hide skin perfections and they like the tanned skin. I do think that this look is made to attract potential mates. In Japan the look is called Ganguro. It's not very attractive in my opinion. I don't wear very much makeup. It's fortunate that not everyone dyes their hair blonde! Natural hair colors are beautiful and fitting.
i guess to hide imperfections of the skin or just to get a tan an look healthy.

They're all going to die of skin cancer, unless they use sunless tanning lotion.
